We are delighted to announce a major conference, generously sponsored by Slaughter and May, and in conjunction with the Cambridge Private Law Centre, to mark the 25th anniversary of the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999. The event will take place on 19th and 20th September 2024 at Selwyn College, Cambridge.

The conference will explore the doctrinal and practical significance of the legislation, and will be a collaboration between academia, practising lawyers and the judiciary. Participants will include Lord Burrows, Cockrill J, leading academics including Professors Hugh Beale, Hector McQueen, Louise Gullifer, Catherine Barnard and Campbell McLachlan, and prominent practitioners across a number of fields including construction, finance, insurance, real property, shipping and private international law. The collected papers will be published in a volume in 2025.

Please contact Janet O'Sullivan (jao21@cam.ac.uk) if you are interested in attending the conference.
