Location:
Faculty of Law, LG18 (The David Li Kwok Po Lecture Theatre)

The Cambridge Private Law Centre is organising a panel discussion of Paul v Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust [2024] UKSC 1.

Decided by the Supreme Court in 2024, Paul v Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust is without a doubt a seminal case on liability for psychiatric harm in tort law. The panel speakers have expertise in the area and thorough knowledge of the case:

  • Hon Mr Justice Chamberlain (first instance judge in Paul) will give a judge’s perspective.
  • Robert Weir KC (counsel for the claimants in Paul) will give a practitioner’s perspective.
  • Dr Eleni Katsampouka (lecturer at King’s College, London) will give an academic’s perspective.

The event provides an opportunity to hear firsthand from those involved in arguing and deciding the cases we study.
